The soffit board is tucked away under the fascia board. It is usually the board that you see most of from street level. The soffit can be ventilated to allow the flow of air into the roof area.

Alternatively, ventilation can be provided over the top of the fascia board. Many people prefer the latter solution these days. Without adequate ventilation, condensation will form in the roof void increasing the risk of timber decay.

 - First we remove your gutter and slide back the first row of roof tiles

 - We then remove the existing fascia and soffit and trim any damaged felt

 - Then we check the condition of the rafter and repair any damage

 - We will then install the soffit

We will also happily replace your fascia at the same time as replacing your soffit in order for them to match.

Soffit types

There are three different types of soffit, these are;
- UPVC; These types of soffit have numerous advantages including keeping your house warmer than it was before
- Wooden; Wooden soffits are pleasing on the eye, however they often erode quickly
- Vinyl; This type of soffit is durable and is a cheaper alternative to other soffit types
